What this feature is for
The Undisclosed option helps you prepare a structure for sharing when the relationship should remain visible, but the identity of a specific company or officer should not.
You can use it to:
- hide the name of a sensitive shareholder or officer
- keep ownership or control lines visible without revealing identity
- prepare cleaner exports for external sharing
- create audience-specific versions of the same structure
Important to know
Before you start, keep these points in mind:
- It is best to use Undisclosed in a dedicated view
- This change affects only the current view
- It does not change the underlying company, officer, or relation data
- The structure still keeps the connection in place
- In the view, the item will appear as Undisclosed Company or Undisclosed Officer
- The undisclosed version can also be reflected in exports and shares from that view
How to mark an item as undisclosed
- Open the relevant company and go to Legal entity structure
- Open the view you want to work in
- Enter Edit mode
- Click the company or officer you want to adjust
- Choose the Anonymize option
The selected item will now appear as Undisclosed Company or Undisclosed Officer in that view
What stays visible
When you use Undisclosed:
- the position of the item in the structure stays visible
- the ownership or relationship line stays visible
- the identity is hidden in that view
This means you can still show how the structure works without revealing every name.
When to use Undisclosed
This feature is especially useful when:
- a shareholder should remain confidential in a shared chart
- a structure is being prepared for an external audience
- the relationship matters more than the identity
- you want to simplify what is shown without removing the connection entirely
Use Undisclosed together with other tools
A common workflow is:
- Create or open a view
- Use Bulk or Elements to simplify the structure
- Use Undisclosed for the companies or officers you do not want to name
- Use Details to reduce extra visual information if needed
- Use Reorganize to improve the layout
- Export or share the final view
When to use Undisclosed instead of hiding
Use Undisclosed when you still want to show that an entity or officer exists in the structure, but you do not want to reveal the identity.
Use Hide when you do not want that part of the structure to appear at all in the current view.
Best practice
For the best results:
- use Undisclosed in a dedicated view
- keep the original data unchanged and maintain a separate share-ready version
- review the final view before export to confirm it shows the right level of detail
- use separate views if different audiences need different disclosure levels
FAQ
Does Undisclosed change the underlying company or officer data?
No. It only changes how the selected item is shown in the current view.
Will the same undisclosed item appear in all views?
No. This is a view-specific change and must be applied separately in each view where needed.
Can I still show the structure if a company or officer is undisclosed?
Yes. The structure and connections remain visible.
Will the undisclosed version appear in exports?
Yes. The current view can be exported or shared with the undisclosed label in place.
Should I use Undisclosed in the master structure?
It is usually better to use it in a dedicated view, especially when preparing a version for a specific audience.
